Making Writing Easier

  • Algowriter aims at being the best writing tool ever.
  • It helps you organise your work.
  • It makes you write documents faster, in fact tens of times faster.
  • It is very popular among students, researchers, writers and professionals.

How does it work?

  • Very simple to use!
  • Just break up your project into Topics, Subtopics and Units.
  • You can write up those items randomly and freely.
  • Algowriter organises them in just a few seconds, not hours or days as you would, otherwise!
  • Adding bibliography, charts and other tools is very simple with Algowriter.
  • Splitting, re-numbering, merging and/or moving items or whole projects becomes very easy.
  • You can even 'digest' existing documents. Algowriter will organise them for you!

Project Level Functions

Algowriter provides several functions that can enable you to manage your projects. The key core functions at the project level are as follows:
  • Open and edit an existing algowriter project.
  • Start a new project.
  • Run a project to view all its contents.
  • Merge two or more projects.
  • Import a project by 'digesting' it into algowriter.
  • Rearrange the order in which your projects occur.
  • Search and find a project to open.
  • Rename a project.
  • Delete a project or several projects.
  • Copy an existing project.

Topic Level Functions

At the topic level, you are dealing with the topics in your projects. Here you can:
  • Add one or more topics to your project.
  • Edit topic titles or rename topics.
  • Rearrange the ordering of the topics and automatically update corresponding labels.
  • Import topics from other projects into the currently active project.
  • Merge topics from the active and non-active projects.
  • Move topics to other projects.
  • Run the document and directly anchor to the topic position in the document.
  • Delete a topic or several topics.

Subtopic Level Functions

When you run a standard algowriter document, subtopics appear with headings numbered with a period separating the topic number and the subtopic number. For example, a title such as 4.2 About Algowriter would refer to subtopic No.2 under Topic No.4. At the subtopic level you can:
  • Add one or more subtopics to a topic.
  • Edit subtopic titles or rename subtopics.
  • Rearrange the subtopics ordering and their contents.
  • Merge subtopics from the same or different topics in the same or different project.
  • Move subtopics from one topic to another in the same or different project.
  • Run the document and directly anchor to the subtopic position, however big the document.

Unit Level Functions

Units are the core of the document. The topics and subtopics levels enable arranging and organising the document layout, whereas it is at the unit level where most of the writing and editing is done. At the unit level you can:
  • Run the document and directly anchor to the unit position, however big the document is.
  • Edit existing units in a given document.
  • Add new units to subtopics.
  • Merge units from the same or different subtopics in the same or different topics.
  • Delete one or more units from a project.
  • Add or import pictures/images into a unit.
  • Use algowriter citation engine to add references and bibliography to your project.
  • Use algowriter charts engine to add charts and graphs to your project.
  • And finally...the wonderful Splice function that enables you to weave units from different sources into a highly well organized document.

Research Functions

Algowriter aims at harnessing the power of computers to simplify all kinds of writing. The Research function in particular was included to make it easy for writers to gather data and get it automatically analysed. With the research engine you can:
  • Quickly design a questionnaire/survey and dispatch it to respondents.
  • Collect data from individual respondents.
  • Enter manually generated data for analysis.
  • Automate generation of charts, tables and research reports.
  • Organize and tally qualitative data.
  • Append various questionnaires and research results to a project.
